Eighteen months has passed by since the release of the orignal Rainbow 6 Vegas and ever since gamers around the globe have waited anxiously for a decision on it’s sequel. To be a true, welcomed success the game would have to be innovative, stay true to the Rainbow 6 title and have a multiplayer to match the likes of COD and Halo. Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, while a worthy follow up does not appear to meet such heights.
Tom Clancys Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 has been released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and is certainly a welcomed sequel after the last game left you on an annoyingly unnecessary cliff hanger. Sin city’s in trouble again and of course you and your team have been a assigned to take down a large group of terrorists. Lets face it though, Rainbow 6 Vegas has never exactly been story intensive, and on the most part your just going to be running from place to place shooting people.

You can gain experiance for your character on and offline now. Everything you do earns you xp which when playing the campaign means you never feel like your wasting your time. This also means that if you play through the story mode you can go online for the first time with extra weapons and gear.
You can now also sprint. Imagine that, a fast paced tactical shooter with a sprint button. I’m glad the series has finally realised it’s 2008 and people like there first person shooters fast, hard, intense, but apparently a little sloppy. You’re teammates, while rather deadly, get very sloppy and you’re often left wondering what the hell they’re doing. But the AI overall has been improved.
Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are beautifull graphically though it often doesn’t feel so as you’re often left missing the incredible las vegas atmosphere. The audio is simply incredible and realy makes this game.

Now, the online play ads the new modes including, team leader, total conquest and demolation. It also features co-op play for the campaign allthough only 1 person can control the AI squad. You can now also only play with two human people and two computer controlled people because apparently, that makes sense.
The main problem with this game though is that the game play does get a little repetative and there is nothing innovative about this tactical shooter allthough that’s barely surprising seeing as how long they were given on this game to work on.
Overall it’s a fun game you can play with your friends or by your lonesome though it will not be a game to replace COD 4 or Halo 3 as it feels a little been here done that .
